Do This And It Will Change Your Life

2-32pm

25th November means Christmas is a month today. It’s difficult to get my head around this. For me, 2014 has been a spectacular year of adjustment….an interest journey of unwrapping a few of my outer layers to discover a bit more of what’s under there. Forgive me for harping on (again) about my leaving CCFm, but it flowed through my veins. I used to sit and ponder sometimes (a couple of years ago) as to how I would extract myself from CCFm. I was so ingrained there….part of the furniture…I couldn’t figure out how I could ever leave, so now to find myself  having left 6 months ago, sometimes I have to pinch myself. How did I do that? God’s grace! I’m so grateful to be so happy. I am relaxed, content and walking a new journey of self discovery.

When I was on air and getting up super early to pray (3-35am!!!!!! Gasp!), I used to promote starting the day with God so that I would be strengthened for this super important ministry in which I as involved.  I did also say that whether you were a president or a pauper, or anywhere in between,  to cope with life in the best possible way, get up earlier and meet with God. Well,  I’ve had 6 months of opportunity to ‘put my money where my mouth is.’ My super important job for these past few months included cleaning toilets, sanding woodwork, and other interesting activities!

I’ve had time to prove that, regardless of my station in life, to live life to the absolute fullest, happiest and most rewarding, connecting with my Creator before the day unfolds is the best way to go! I no longer have to get up at 3-35am. Most morning the alarm goes off at 4-50am.

And so one month before Christmas and just over 5 weeks until 2015 rings in, it’s time to do some planning. Here’s a challenge for you….to get up half an hour earlier, pray and  read through the entire Bible in one year.

Bible reading plan

Click on the link above and pick the One Year Bible reading plan. It takes about 15 minutes a day. I remember when I first started this. A lot of the Old Testament didn’t make too much sense. This year is the 8th year that I’ve read through the Bible in a year and I’m beginning to see how it all fits together…ok ok, I’m a slow learner!!! The one thing that never ceases to amaze me is that I get something out of reading the Bible EVERY SINGLE DAY. And every year I find verses that “I’ve never seen before!” I’ve read them before, but never picked up on some amazing truth that they hold.  It is my goal, by God’s grace, to read through the Bible every year until I die!

For many years, I used the reading plan from the website above, but now I used a specially designed Bible, that my brother bought for me.

One year Bible

It’s divided into days of the year and each day contains the readings for that day.

Bible open to 25th NovemberI’ve been using this for 3 years and it’s my plan to continue through 2015. Reading the Bible like this keeps me grounded. It feeds my soul. It reminds me of how to live right.

Are you up for the challenge?

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Just do it!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!
